The voyagers of the romantic nineteenth century made this street one of its favorite places, all of them succumbed to the mystery of this unique street. From this point we can see the ruins of the Kadi´s bridge, which was the union between the Alhambra and the Albaicín and a defensive bastion of this part of the medieval city.
This bridge was an icon of the romantic era and appears in various prints and drawings from the period. Like the one we can admire here. This drawing was made by the scottish artist David Roberts, who travelled around Spain between 1832 and 1833, he visited Burgos, Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada and Sevilla.
This journey inspired many paintings to the artists, that were published in The Landscape Annualand in Picturesque Sketches of Spain.
