This picture shows the top of the door of Almocabar located in the southern sector of the city, built in the thirteenth century and restructured in the period of Charles V. This gate is named after the word "Al-maqabir" which means cemetery, because it was near the main cemetery outside the walls, according to Islamic custom. It was one of the main access gates to the city and led into the Bairro Alto, now gives the district ccess Holy Spirit and the Muslim.
